« on: April 15, 2020, 09:20:25 AM »
Picked up this new Black Project Ray fin to try out, unfortunately haven't been able to try it due to all the beaches being closed..... anybody have one?

I've seen one before, but never used one. Looks like it will track well. I find that I like different fins on different boards. What works well on one board, doesn't feel quite right on another. On twitchy light or narrow boards, I like a little heavier fin to stabilize it a little.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

I used the smaller Tiger in a fin for a a few outings last season. It was good tracking and relatively stable on my whiplash 14*25 but that is a stable and good tracking board from the start.

I also use Maki fins and found it about equal to my favorite Tere fin with a little less stability.

Exactly what the owner told me, great for tracking especially if your going to a narrower board...... its almost like you know TallDude ;)

I haven't yet, but with the weather heading into the mid 80's next week I think I will get wet. My sister has a place on Beach Road. It's all private beach, so no issue going out there. Not a good surfing spot, but I could go for a distance paddle from there. The hassle is I practically have to carry the board through the middle of her house because the only side yard access is all jammed with surfboards, bbq's, bikes  and stacked patio chairs. It's a two man job to get boards from the street to the beach. Then you have to scale down the sea-wall boulders about 10'. I always ding my boards trying to get to the water there.
