Thanks.. Yes it’s just a 2” wide x 4” dia PVC pipe with a slot cut in it and a piece of the rubber/ grippy mesh stuff underneath to give it more grip.

I also used a hole punch in the wing tip to run a safety leash to from the camera.

The wind just gusted today up for about 20 minutes and I only got a couple of runs out and back before it dropped off so I didn’t get to try a few more camera angles.

Wow, great camera angle. Looks like PVC pipe. You’re tempting me to buy a GoPro with that video.

Did the camera weight add much challenge?

I just noticed your question.. No.. The camera weight was not noticeable and didn’t seem to effect anything.

Excellent.. That is good news.. Mine is the Hero Black 7.

I’m looking forward to watching your vids and learning from them.

I was out at Parkdale beach today (straight in front of my house) and I was using my 4.6 wing and HA 1800 foil.

The 8 has a nice added feature over the 7 of post process horizon tilt correction in the GoPro app, a big benefit if you are mounting anywhere on the wing. I have to manually correct horizon tilt from the boom mount 7. Royal PITA, but the 8 is too big for my drone. You should be very happy with it.

Despite some flaws and occasional bugs they really are easy and fun to use on the water.  My first one was an original (very crude!) low res  model you bought through a handful of surf shops, long before anyone heard the name.  Self action video isn’t just about sharing the fun, you really do learn from watching yourself make mistakes, as painful as that might be!

Very light wind today but it was a nice sunny winters day here in Melbourne, Australia.
