Wing Foil tips for beginners- Wing Surf voice-over video
« on: March 29, 2020, 10:44:33 AM »
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPHWjI7uXYY&t=23s

Derek Hamasaki has been coaching his buddies how to wing foil on a protected downwind run with ideal conditions for learning.  In this video with voice-over I give some tips that will hopefully be helpful for those learning the fun new sport of wingfoiling.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below, Aloha!

This long format commentary is gold!!! Thanks Robert! I do want to see more wave winging like at the end. Your wave riding spot is amazing. Wing on!

Wonderful video again Robert.  I had to edit it to center for use on our homepage.  Stoked that you are still able to get out in this crazy time.

Nice that you leave in all of the real world stuff.  "Oh, this is where Jeff hits the submnerged barge."  "Oh, this is where Derek swims after Daniel's wing."  I am sure there are more than a few of us that can relate to this!

Thanks!

"Ya, don't go there." ...thanks, Robert.  I agree with D-S, long-form is good.

Thanks for the encouraging comments guys.  We got some really good drone footage over the last few days and I'll post another video shortly, looks like we will have more time to shoot and edit video this month.  Take care and be well.

Really enjoyed the video, thanks Robert.  How much wind did you have?

Thanks for the video. I've got a 5m duotone on the way. Do you recommend the wrist leash go to your front arm or back arm?

As someone who fabricated his own sliding spreader bar when I kitesurfed for a season, I like the one hand on the boom and feather the front of the wing with the leash action.

I would say 10-15 knots and the wind got lighter towards the end of our session
