Floating pad for dock start in ocean swell
« on: March 03, 2020, 01:11:41 PM »
Has anyone used one of these floating pads for dock starting in the ocean. https://www.boteboard.com/products/inflatable-dock?variant=22330737557622&gclid=CjwKCAiAnfjyBRBxEiwA-EECLIhN47qzuC7moa4Tp3_aJv2UHQGtLVqi0lLcaGKYLFV7BX-vzwYY7BoCbQoQAvD_BwE

There's a bunch of companies making them, I was going to get a wave runner with some friends but we don't get much ocean swell with the Bahamas blocking it in South Florida so thought this might work to catch the small non breaking swell.

I'm curious about all sorts of interesting projects...  FLK, Where would you position this?  Inside it seems it would get hammered ...outside would only give you a 'rest area', no?  Aside from the cost, maintenance, trailer, registry costs, etc. of the Ski - someone does not get to play.  How much fun is that - the second time asked?

...and do you not need a taxi service to transport the float?

quit over thinking it wetstuff.

Buy it, take to beach, pump up, anchor outside the surf, have fun.

No trailer, no maintenance, no register, no ski.

Basically just doing dock starts out past the break.

kinda like this xcept smaller dock and with a foil

Was thinking this thing. Just need one or two anchors. Have it just past the break so I can pump into the back of the wave or close to the beach and pump out

And fun for the kids, and a nice place to have a beer afterward. It's one of those things a wife will be happy about because they can see themselves using it. Diane was looking over my shoulder and said: "ooh, that looks nice." And I know she'd never set foot on it.
