The bluetooth integration is interesting. If you had the right phone you could use the google earth plotting function to give real time updates of your paddle

can't wait for apple to release the version 3.0 of the iphone operating system so we can see how their a2dp implementation of bluetooth pans out. took a big risk keeping mine past the 30 day return policy once i learned of the current limitations on bluetooth and other necessities like cut 'n paste and mms (multimedia messaging). figured that since they dropped digital rights protection on their itunes it was just a matter of time (way too long as far as i'm concerned). i was just on the brink of jaibreaking my unit in order to get gps turn-by-turn capabilities as well as other features but now things are looking up. well... we'll see. heck, with the iphones gps capabilities one really shouldn't find it necessary to use another satellite device whatsoever.

has anyone here tried the new Suunto X10 gps watch ? expensive piece of gear but it looks strong, not too bulky and has good features.

I like Suunto products, I have a stinger dive watch/computer that has been amazingly reliable and useful. their software has been kind of limited in the past, but that might have improved. All their stuff is expensive, but worth the premium if you want to have something you can wear anywhere without looking like an extra in Robocop. When i was diving a lot I wore my dive computer like a dress watch.

Got my Dick Tracy watch the other day...It's as ugly as hell but it should give some good down-winding info..and also good for testing different board speeds.

I've just got to work out how to use it... Jeeeez it's complicated.. [:I]

likin' the corner buttons and it looks like you can rig up a clip to your paddle (or anything else for that matter) to have another way of viewing the display.
