Google has the current glacier about right - but tracked the gps a bit off.

JEG - yes - it was soo good -  :D One of those days you can tuck away in your memories and play back. Even the moment of terror when I thought I'd failed to be a good companion  - a reminder to be very careful, not to get carried away and forget Nature is also absolutely unforgiving as well as beautiful.

Crud. I killed  the wrong video on Vimeo  ---

Video of the Swans taking off:

And google managed to make a pretty good album with their algorithm  - so here's a link to that - much higher resolution if you have the time and a big monitor :D

Wow deepmud!!!!
That vid hit the mark... what a place, perfect conditions. Amazing!

That is exactly why I paddle.... not for speed or music,
simply to take me where most people will never get, where I witness and listen to the perfection of nature.

The colder the better IMO
Nature slows down and murmurs, to conserve precious energy.
I have actually paddled through flocks of geese, that gently slid out of my way as I passed.

I almost always paddle alone, just to immerse myself in the solitude.

Sup - you'd love it. :D I will re-run that paddle in my mind for years to come.
