Fuselage lenght = more stability?
« on: December 18, 2019, 06:47:46 AM »

Hello everyone,
My current set up is Slingshot infinity 84 front wing (2000), back 48 stabilizer and 62 cm fuselage.
Since i’m progressing I’m feeling i want something smaller and faster so i’m thinking going for the infinity 76 front wing (1550) and 42 cm back stabilizer but to improve stability i would also go for the 78 cm fuselage.
What do you think?
Thanks!!

Long fuse can make the board easier to switch feet and be generally less sensitive for heavy people...200 lbs +

For the 160 lb guy, it’s just going to make everything harder. Harder to pump onto foil especially.

I weight 130 lb, and actually who told me it is more stable while jibing has my same weight. So i guess it’s all personal?  :D
Thanks for your answer by the way, it’ s nice to compare and see all the different point of views

I never tried the longer fuse with that foil.
In my experience the 42 stab gets a lot more out of the 84 wing, and a washer will take more of the down force out (lift).  I remember that wing feeling like it has a governor for top speed.  The 76 I didn't feel like I hit a max speed.
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

I have the Infinity 84 and large back wing and started with the long fuse and long mast as that is what I used for Wind Foiling. I weigh 160 lbs.

I now run the 71 cm mast and short fuse with the same wings.

I did notice a difference but it disappeared after about 30 minutes and I prefer the pumping with the short fuse and don't really notice any stability issues.

I believe with the increase of speed the longer fuse will be substantially more stable and reduce the chances of breaching or diving.  However, in my experience I went to smaller wings for more speed and also find the shorter fuse just fine.
