Let it cure in a warm area (I use my car parked in the sun.) And Iíd maybe leave a little overlap on the front and rear of the mast when you trim it. Even if itís only 2 or 3mm, the chemical bond will help Iíll bet.

Looks good!

Thanks. For the help.
I like to trim it so it's round to the bottom to have bigger base.
I have to send it and have hot coat on it to try to make it nice.that's wher I am not good as I like to be.
I cover it and put it in the San today .and think it shoul have few days to cure but I do 7not know how Many

Looks good. The hotcoat is going to be just for appearance since pinholes won't matter. Don't over trim the parts, better to have it ugly and strong than pretty and weak. Don't get carried away sanding either. If you want to sand it smooth add a couple of layers of fiberglass to give you something to sand. If you cut the carbon threads with sanding you make it weak.

Don't sand the CF. Do what Pono says. No need to v-bag (but you can). Just hand lay up 2 layer of 4 or 6 oz fiberglass. Don't even worry about the uneven transition. Lap the fiberglass over it to a point beyond the furthest edge of the CF. It helps to mask off the point where you want to terminate the repair. Before the epoxy kicks, take a razor blade and cut the excess glass off right at the edge of the masking tape. Then peel off the tape too. That will make a cleaner transition. THEN SAND! and paint...

BTW, You'll need to cut the CF. You could try R hand or L hand aviation snips and cut and arc. You can sand that edge to get a clean arc. Leave some of the sandwiched area to retain the strength.

Well, you sanded it a little ::) Not too much damage. You could just hot coat it at this point. Watch that razor edge. Maybe some glass will thicken the sharp edge of that arc. Sand it round.

BTW, this whole 'Shape Shack' category should be called the 'Quick Fix' because we are all masters of that. Getting back on the water is what is important. Proper technique.... not so important.
