2019 Starboard Hypernut Foil Starlite 7'4" x 30"
« on: November 20, 2019, 05:40:13 PM »
The board weight 8.7kg Starlite construction without fins.
I'm 80kg beginner to intermediate sup surf and beginner foiler.
The board surf better than I thought considering the weight and don't let the shape, length, and volume deter you because its a fun board, it rips and you can ride shorter length than you think.
It's a really stable board to foil and I would've like a jimmy lewis board but he doesn't make hybrid foil board.
The size, shape, and volume are on my limit and I don't think I could go any lower. The board feels solid and those rails are bullet proof but I think the weight could've been better.

Nice looking board, JEG.  When are you planning on foiling this versus your dedicated foil sup?  I had the same board in the 2017 Blue Carbon Model--it weighed 15.4lbs which is quite a bit lighter and was the most well-built board I owned.  Actually really enjoyed the way it surfed as long as the waves weren't overly critical.  Perfect for mushy, slopy and longboard-type waves.

This was my flatform foil board and then I went to dedicated foil board. Your right, the carbon version is much better I believe.

Got it.  Went on a similar journey.  Started on the 7'4 Hypernut for foiling then moved to a dedicated 6'0 Kalama.

The kalama board's are nice and wish we have them here in Australia as the price is ridiculous to send here.
