I can’t believe that Red Bull is not going to live stream this event.
Hell, even the local junior high live streams their football and basketball games.

I also bet dollars to doughnuts that the general carnage of trying to fit 14 foot race boards into 10 foot closeouts will soon show up on one of the surf internet sites to prove how dorky our sport is.

I think we will see a durability test of the two Piece Sunova, as I saw James Casey post he is using it for the event :)

I couldnt imagine paddling from Chrissy Field to OB on a flat day with the tide and wind.

so funny.  As a NJ surfer I wait and wait for any swell so I can surf.  When I lived in OB, SF I waited for LESS swell on most days just to be able to paddle out!

I stopped by during my lunch break.  Unfortunately the race start was delayed for about 90 min.  Saw Grant Washburn there directing the skis (for buoy placement).  Cool vibe of people there waiting for the finish.  The consensus was the local publicity for the race was limited.  I only heard about it, due this thread.  Did not a see a sole in the water, so the racers have the surf all to themselves.

They've posted a 'results page' but I don't know what it means.

https://www.appworldtour.com/red-bull-heavy-water-live

I think the 2 piece Sunova will be the strongest board out there, we'll see. But with that type of surf, anyone that doesn't break their board will just be lucky.

Apparently after the delayed start they are also delaying the "Live" stream to 3pm PT.  Saw that on FB-  the APP site says event is scheduled for tomorrow at 8:30am.  Of course the fools who run this thing decided it would be a good idea to post the live (actually live) results directly below the delayed video.

It looks like there’s over an hour delta in finishing times in the top 10!?
Hope there’s a lengthy recap video ...

No Kai Lenny in the top ten?

The web site seems a bit disorganized.

It's no wonder that anybody outside our small little stand up world has ever even heard of the APP World Tour.

Saw a video of Casper at the finish and it's so foggy you can hardly see the surf.  Don't imagine the footage is going to be great.

Same as last time..no information. I was there for over 2 hours...and then gave up. No one knew anything and no live updates.

They could have a great event....but...I think this is mostly for posting marketing videos later. Too bad, because the athletes are truly skilled and daring to go out in those conditions with those boards...

Wow, Fiona won the women's race with a solid two minute margin.

Whoops, and now the Women's race results have disappeared. Weird.

Rumor on the old interweb is that none of the women finished but they may still awarding prize money based on some point in the race - and Fiona was leading at that point.

SUPRacer had some updates including that the media boat lost its drone out there

I was expecting trashed horrendous conditions after yesterday's strong onshore winds.  Shocked that it was clean and ridable and sunny and smooth.  All morning it was like this and fort point had great conditions, I would have loved to see the buoy moved way inside and on time start.

For some reason there was a 2 hour delay, the wind and fog came in, brutal conditions.   In real time felt very dramatic and sketchy in the near zero visibility.  I hope they have enough close up and POV footage and water safety commentary to capture how nerve wracking it felt to be there.

Probably need to check all the gps data to see who finished.

I think Kai had a date with jaws, didnt see him.
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

Got invited a a couple live feeds by friends who were there but they were pretty poor quality. Good recap by Chris Parker here http://www.supracer.com/2019-red-bull-heavy-water-casper-steinfath/?fbclid=IwAR1IiWu6fmg95MC-5beS55M1ymPZ10QZZekZmEV7LqxWIYXa293i8fdwhCI

Why were they riding waves at Ft Point? Shouldn’t they have been heading out to OB.

Or was there a loop?
