Good on ya Pabst, for giving it a run!

Looks like big and gnarly everywhere!

Ben Gravy putting it on the line.... with a smile. Great attitude and stoke!

Day 3 for Nor-easter/Melissa  in the  books (unless I get an afternoon session in) for South Jersey. Different break today. Clean and light off shores, still had the size but lots of water slowed things down. Couldn't believe I had it all to myself. Really, just what the Dr. ordered after yesterday!

You guys in the East have us on the size.  Today was pushing the limits of my optimism here in Northern California.

It was a true 2 feet.  And I could barely catch waves.  I was catching waves all summer in Rhode Island when it was 2 feet and NO-ONE was out (on my foil).  This was smaller than that.

Hard to believe there is still swell! I did a shoot w/a local surfer since my shoulder is a no go. We both love PSH boards and he has ridden my 9-2 Hull Ripper a few times now. lol...he's actually on here as Dub-G and was asking if anyone had one. I didn't even realize it was him! "Dub"s gotta 9'6" Ripper. One of the first designs. I've ridden it and it's not quite as loose as the Hull, but more gunny and down the line.
Swell was still rather consistent today but the wind was a bit off. Dub was rippin' it up on the 9'2"!

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Intense size!
That is the definition of scoring! Code Red!
Only one other time I can remember an Epic rating in the forecast on Surfline for NJ. Was Oct 2005 for Hurricane Wilma. Same yr Katrina and Rita hit and they had to revert to the Greek alphabet after running out of regular letters.
The power of a hurricane is amazing.

It was definitely Code Red here that day. I took a bunch of shots and my son even got a shot of me.

NEsters blow side/off around these parts hard and impossible to SUP, so I’m thinking of trying a little kneeboarding with swim fins

Best of the season for me for sure
Just when you thought it was over, it kept thrownin...and clean up until last nite

Wanna say though...I've spent alot of time doing the subtle sup at a fairly closed spot, and apparently last swell, two yahoos jumped off a sailboat (maybe chartered) , and proceeded to stuff the crew....then got chased out, so .I had to do a little extra to make amends for all you polite supters    Essentially  involved later drops etc so really not a loss..
Too many for the rack
Some in the shack
Some under decks
Some have straps

Friday was too windy to SUP and out of my league at the usual beach.  I told a friend I would shoot if he had the nuts to go out.  Sequence from the camera data shows a 30 second ride on this logo to mast high wave.  Did get a SUP in on sunday AM,  no-one out and a decent wave at PJ light.  Tide was a bit high so some closeouts close to shore but almost by myself.   Day after the big surf is gone is the best with everyone catching up on life and resting.  JP
