Soul SUP'n
« on: October 06, 2019, 08:41:36 AM »
All the anticipated storm swells in New England the past few weeks, have attracted crowds at every break....

My goal is to slip in some sweet sessions, with little or no people.

That looked like a great musher to.... some steep wave session. Even with a few others out, you were scoring big time. Watching it I was thinking, "man that Soloshot is catching some really crisp video and tracking is spot on." Then NOT! ::) Oh well, such is technology.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

@ Rick

Really enjoyed watching you sup surfing on those "high tide softies". I like soft waves like that.

Thanks for sharing the video.

ha ha... she's so sweet!
Tell her I love being 71 and glad I can still enjoy this lifestyle!
and yeah.... foil sort of wave.....but what you can't see is the UPS truck sized boulders just under the surface. everywhere.

@ RbGar TD and eastie.... seems to fall that way, but we'll get it one of these days!

Thanks Wingman, it was just easy fun  :)

Sweet deal Creek. There's a spot in southeast mainland Japan that breaks just like that. Never anyone out. As soon as I get about two weeks with nothing to do, I'm headed that way!

 safe from thieves?

I've shot from Maine to Florida, Thailand and Portugal. Always just leave it totally unattended on the shore.
Once I left it alone on the deck of a bar  :o
People walk around it, checking it out.... saying things to it :-) but so far, they have respected it.

I use good judgement when I decide to shoot.
But many times I am over 1,000 yards away (it doesn't follow well over 800 yards away.... it tracks to the right of me)

If I have concerns in a location, I use a bike lock and attach a box of rocks to the tripod (which hold it down in wind).... pretty awkward to run away with that mess :-)

Back in the 90's I had a wife that took videos.... but someone ran off with her   :-\ ;D ;D

Here's a screenshot that shows how crowded my local beaches are.... I leave it unattended in the middle of them.
No doubt.... there is risk, but this is the only way content happens.

Nice "Soul Searchin". Looked so fun! Def worth the drive.

Too bad about the SS tracking. Happened to me more than once!
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"
