Here's a short video, and I mean short. Even for a tall guy :D
I just wanted to share my approach to surfing. It starts back in my skateboarding days where you pump your board and generate speed to do something at the end with that speed. I've never been of the mindset to just go along for the ride. I want to take the wave energy given to me and use that as a launch pad to do something more. Style master I'm not. Drop turn hit drop turn hit I am. A slasher I guess? Sometimes it's not pretty, but I don't care as long as I'm going faster.

Maybe some of you will get something out of this? Anyway thanks for watching.

It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

Yesterday. It was good. A little offshore, sunny, shoulder to head high. One set after another, just kept rolling through. Even held through high tide. Got my share.

Looks like you were getting ready to pole-dance at the end.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

I have a good hour or so of me pole dancing with my paddle ;D The downside to that POV. I usually cut all of that out.

Love it TD!  The need for speed. Then to fully lean into a cutback or come off the bottom into the lip.  I have seen very few pics of myself but I’m sure -though don’t care- what feels good to me may not always impress the rest.

I still pump the skateboard and when surfing pump that too if the wave needs it.
Never hopped, always pumped.
