Any info on this Tropical Blends 12 foot board?
« on: September 24, 2019, 07:01:39 AM »
I was wondering if anyone has an info on this board? To me it looks a bit like the Paddle Surf Hawaii 12 foot gun but a bit wider? Maybe that's wishful thinking?

I can't see much from these pics and don't have the board in hand yet. Unfortunately I don't know it's dimensions other than that it's 12 feet.

Any word on the Tropical Blends boards in general?

Thanks for any help.

Hey
Don’t know about this board in particular, but generally speaking Tropical Blends was well regarded. Hawaii based...so surf oriented. Quality construction, using a full pvc sandwich construction.  Just recently closed its doors in Honolulu.

Well built boards, that would probably be a PVC epoxy wrap, they did a lot of carbon boards too, but they are very obviously carbon. Tropical Blends tended to license designs from local Oahu shapers, including some well known ones, so they tended to work well. That is one of their all arounder shapes, so don't expect a high performance shape, just a cruiser you can put kids on that also surfs pretty well.

Nice, high quality, solid fiberglass fins, too.
