A friend of mine works for the CDC and told me that it's even worse than they're saying. If I go out at dusk, it's pants and long sleeves without a doubt. Should settle down in a few weeks though.

it's over at the first big frost--for the time being

EEE prognoses are awful--40%+ die of brain/neuro decay--a bad ride, to say the least. and of those who survive, many if not most are left with serious brain/neuro damage.

makes west nile, lyme, babeliousis, rocky mtn spotted fever, malaria, elephantiasis blah blah--even HIV--seem a walk in the park

hope this proves to be the blip of 2019, where, in coming years, EEE reverts to obscurity

person just down the road from my CT house died last week

and kaya, yeah, gotta take precaution, but it's tough to prevent all mosquito bites. and EEE is being found in alarming numbers of mosquitos in the affected communities.

and im already very worried about the real and scary decline in bird populations, and the bee die-off---if we solve this by attempting to kill off mosquitoes with pesticides, we may be shooting ourselves in the private parts....

for those who still read the NY Times:
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/19/science/bird-populations-america-canada.html

hope it revert after the frost.....

I have had Dengue   and my wife had chikungunya a couple years ago...both mosquito born illnesses and not fun.
read this recently...

"when in reality, the mosquito is the most dangerous animal on Earth (see www.gatesnotes.com/Health/Mosquito-Week-2018). This animal kills more people in a day than sharks do in a century."

I am definitely worried about EEE! Just read an article sighting all the cases found in New Jersey recently. And me laying out on my hammock in my grassy backyard seems risky at this point. Been covering up out there recently.

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

The homeless probably have the highest risk living in the woods and swampy areas with little protection.

It's also crazy that they have a vaccination for Horses for EEE but nothing in development for Humans !!! You'd think Big Pharma would be all over this to make a huge payday but nothing yet.

I miss sitting in my Hot Tub with a cold beer at sunset with fire-pit going......now it's hit the tub in the daytime without the cold beer (as its technically still a work day) which isn't as fun !!!!

I wonder how we can boost the Bat population !!!

sorry to be a broken harp--but effing bats are disappearing faster than birds

like I say, i hope EEE reverts to being a total rarity next season, after this year's frost
