One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

I'll bet I know where that is Don. I still haven't surfed there yet but lately I've been thinking about it. You told me to go there years ago. Nice pics.

The waves were awesome down here today too. Huge overhead sets. Wicked crowded everywhere so a buddy and I paddled to one of my secret spots and we had all the waves to ourselves.

Badger it has to be BIG and a LONG  period to work. Recent storms brought up a lot of rocks so it can be a nightmare getting caught inside. Thankfully the period was so long i never faced a wave paddling back out. Set waves were 2-3 ft overhead and fast . Not much time  to work the face of the wave, mostly  just a race to the finish

Humbled by Humberto Saturday early in rockaways. Swell held on for longer than expected, and I almost got into trouble. Even the short boarders were complaining. Later checked surfline, and it wasn't 3-4 feet as projected, but 8-10. My inexperience kept me in the water for a few, but I figured out that mother nature was the master, and I bowed out. Today was more my style. Surfed out at Riis, 2-3 footers, and had a really fun time.

got friday rock--caught the incoming tide late morning--bigger than th pm, which was solid, but less clean

lotta west wind for rock, definitely textured---clean by cookie and creek!

LB handles west less well than rock--no real clean windows

PJ actually looks smaller but nice on the cam right now--but the crowd!!! wow

Friday at PJ had great conditions,  I SUP'd the stylemaster at the K early to keep out of the crowd.   Shooting at the lighthouse later tempted me out for another hour.  Some of my best rides ever,  clean and overhead !  Shots from the lighthouse.  JP
