Harley-Davidson new electric hog?

No more 45 flathead V-twins. It's E-V's now. Will the Livewire fry the hog?

Well put, TD.  It's all over but the cookoff.  The pot-bellied guys who ride them are next up for a Hoveround and the Nexgen sure don't want to look like them.  I was un-American: clip-ons, never Ape Hangers.

Electric power is an obvious choice for motorcycles. It's easy to make a hundred horsepower motor that weighs next to nothing. The big surprise is that Harley seems to be going in so deep on this. Of course, it doesn't make sense to try to build a better ICE motor at this point, and what they have is pretty sucky. Their previous attempt to do something designed in the current century is the V-rod, which proved that even Porsche can design a crap motor.

I've never had an interest in Harley--pretty much exactly the opposite, though our dog loves them. Goes crazy over them. No idea why. He ignores other motorcycles. He'll turn himself inside out trying to get close to even a parked Harley. If the motor is running the well--trained Zack becomes a lunatic.

I still have a few bikes--ok, a lot of them. No apehangers. My MV Agusta about kills my shoulders these days though. I need to start riding again, it's flat out weird that I don't. I spurned cars for decades.

Beauty, beholder, got it.  This looks like design by committee.  Modern, cool and bony...and then throwback "gas" tank plopped on top?

There is nothing wrong with ape hangers, of course you'll need really long arms to make the thing turn a corner, and your arms be starving for blood after a mile or two.
It takes a quiver to do that.

Those look about right for me. I like to stand on the pegs when I ride. No way to duck low when you hit a swarm of bugs with those bars.
