Quick dry sun shirts
« on: July 27, 2019, 05:51:56 PM »
Curious what some of you are using for sun protection quick dry shirts. Ive ordered a Koredry xl thats really big, then ordered another one in a different color xl thats not even the same ,which is a totally different fit much slimmer fit. I ordered my wife a Koredry tank thats says loose fit and its almost a compression fit wtf?????  Think ill be driving to HB on Monday to show them the big differance in the exact same shirt......... seems like no QC imo

Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking of ordering another KoreDry shirt. I was really happy with the two loose fit KoreDry shirts I bought five years ago. They are showing their age now. Bummer to hear you had problems. I'd like to know if there are any good any alternative brands.

I was thinking rash guard immediately and figured Koredry was just that. I rarely go w/out a rashie these days. Mail order is a gamble for fit no doubt.
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

I'm too embarrassed to wear a tight-fitting rash guard any more...but I'm working on it :-)  So I mostly wear kayak paddling shirts from NRS. Not real cheap, but last years and years, even with constant rubbing under my kayak PFD, feel great, don't give me nipple rash. https://www.nrs.com/product/10114.03/nrs-mens-h2core-silkweight-long-sleeve-shirt

I’ve been wearing these ultralight rip curl shirts. Bought them in every color after I got one for Costa Rica. Loose fit and literally like silk. Great in hot weather.

But who’s making a good hooded one these days? I need to get my neck covered.

Most of the larger surf wear companies make loose fit quick dry material surf shirts now. Comfortable and not skin tight they are nice to wear. The only drawback being that a good wipeouts spin cycle can pull it up over your head.

oneill makes a hooded rashguard, cowboy, but it it a tightie, which i dont like, and this piece is on sale all over the place--so maybe others dont like it either, for whatever reason youd discover when i was delivered.

they make a looser hoody that is supposedly surfable, but it has raised internal seams that look like crap for any rashie--loose or tightie

so im just slathering with sunblock still--during the lousy 6-8 weeks around here where im not in at least a 3/2 fullsuit

PSH, O’Neil, Hurley, and a Quik with a hoodie. All loose and no slippery stuff needed.

I used Victory for while and they were ok.
Now when I paddle I usually wear something from Bloq uv   https://www.bloquv.com

Having had two melanomas, I had to find the best and these tops are really good.  They dry fast enough. Best thing is they are stylish enough to wear to a bar restaurant after a session.  God looking golf shirts too
