Stoke session at Doheny on my new L41
« on: July 17, 2019, 09:44:26 AM »
I finally put this together. I like the paddle mount POV the best by far. We've had some great South Swell pump lately, and Doheny has been super fun. Even more so on my new L41. I freak'n love this board!!!!!  I've surfed 4 days in a row and it's been great every day.

thats a great board for doho.  I really enjoyed mine when I had it but I sold mine to fund my foil habit :(  I may need to find another surf sup soon.

I enjoyed watching this video. Great paddle work with the camera. I love small 2'-3" waves. Just riding and gliding. That is the way I like to sup surf. Hope you get many more great rides on your L41.

Thanks for sharing your video.

That was awesome! Gopro? What mount? Most of what I've seen from paddle mount was poorly executed, making the viewer motion sick. This was great.

Glad you guys and gals liked it. I liked the 50% slow motion with the mellow music, mixed with some live audio.
Here is my quick GoPro paddle shaft mount. I just zip tie it on each time I use it, and cut it off when I'm not filming. I might add a piece of duct tape next time to keep it from twisting around the shaft. I had it just high enough to never hit it on the board or rail with my paddle strokes. I drilled the holes through the GoPro Mount and stuck some foam on either side to keep it lined up.

What a great idea! Was just getting ready to throw GoPro $40 for the large tube mount, but I have a bunch of those white sticky mounts. Will try that first.

Thanks for sharing that.

Nice stoker. You are a master with the paddle mount. I have found this mount style next to impossible to get viewable footage but you score.

Really enjoyed that Tall....very nice riding and super vivid colors!!!!!  Reminiscent of DavidJohn's vids which are great.

I haven't done much filming with my Session since getting a SS3 but I do use a handle bar mount that's always on one of my paddles if I get the urge.

Great vid for sure and look forward to more!!

Thanks for the stoke!!

you sure filled your basket that day! I too like paddle cam POV best, well right after the solo shot View
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"
