Lahui Kai fire sale
« on: May 30, 2019, 01:46:16 PM »
http://www.lahuikai.com/

Some quite nice boards, including the Manta that is known for its surfability of all things, at very good prices.  Also a long board and a hybrid. All carbon.  Less than $1K. Free shipping.  Makes me realize what a sucker I am for a deal.... but luckily I have no extra storage.

That Symanski Carbon Surf - 9'9" x 31" 155 liters for $742.50 and free shipping looks like a nice deal.

I also saw this. Crazy good prices. I used to own the 12' 6" x 26" Team Race. Was a nice board, but very, very fragile. If I even looked at a pebble the wrong way, my board was dinged. Nice to paddle, but to fragile for practical use. And I'm pretty easy on my equipment.

Yes, but funny thing is, the board wasn't particularly light. It weighed 25.8 pounds.

Guess it all depends on what you're looking to use it for. I bought a 14' Manta three years ago because the used carbon Hobie I had bought several months earlier, would flex so stinking much it felt as though I was going up and down further than I was going forward.

The Manta fit the bill as an inexpensive, decently made, wide tailed 14' "race" shaped board for some recreational distance paddling and small wave surfing that kept me on the water on days when my other much smaller boards were just about useless for most things to do out there.

Since most of my time is spent in the surf, and I never planned on competing on a 14er...the Manta was perfect all things considered (namely the price, which luckily was even less than advertised now) since I knew it would spend much more time on the racks than on the water, and I couldn't find anything used as nice for the price of the Manta brand new.
Me: 6'1"/185...(2) 5'1" Kings Foil/Wing Boards...7'10 Kings DW Board...9'6" Bob Pearson "Laird Noserider"...14' Lahui Kai "Manta"...8'0" WaveStorm if/when the proning urges still hit.
