Anyone here tried wingsurfing?
« on: May 29, 2019, 10:08:53 PM »
looks intriguing.  I've been thinking a bunch about whether I'll be able to ride my foil switch.  I tried on a couple of waves and ate it immediately, then didn't have the patience to keep at it

If you watch some of the more current wingsurfing or wingsailing or wing a ding ding they are not switching feet. They probably never windsurfed so they just figured out how to hold the wing front side and back side as they jibe. If your shoulders are square to the board, then it's just a matter of switching the leading hand.

It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

It’s not an issue when up on foil. The drag is so low it’s easy either way. When I kite foil, I never switch my feet. When I windsurf foil I ride both ways. When I surf foil, I would never, ever, consider switching my feet.

It all feels natural to be this way. Non issue.

Lots of talk going on about wings at the Wingsurfing, Windfoiling, Wingfoiling, Wing SUP section.
