I think if you are ok with that, there is not much left to be afraid of.

For anyone interested in great photos of the world inside the Waimea shorebreak, check out Clark Little's Photography site online. Clark was one of the few people to regularly surf Waimea shorebreak, and later created a highly successful career around taking photographs from inside the Waimea shorebreak tubes. His photos have become world famous, and two of them grace our living room walls on Maui. Check it out: https://clarklittlephotography.com/collections/best-seller

The reverse taco at 9:55 would snap most men in two...and then he gets deep-chucked over the falls.

That belongs on the wipeout highlight reel of forever.

You mean this shot!  Did everyone forget how to communicate with pictures?

What I love is that it is Hawaii.  Crowded as it gets and as I was watching I thought "That looks like the same guy in the red suit. . . that is the same guy in the black suit.  Are there only 2 guys out ? ? "

At the end Jamie O. confirms there were just 2 of them.  This can happen a lot here in Northern California.  When things get 'good' people sit out.

I was out at Ross' cove with 15 year old Morgan.  Just the 2 of us.  It was 10 ft @ 14 seconds, faces were 2X++ relatively clean.  I had him look up at the cliff there were > 10 people watching 500 yards in the distance.  I asked what he thought of that he said "I think they need bigger stones."

Hah!  That was the precursor.  The epic folding takes place at 9:55 but the worst of it is a bit obscured.  This one deserves full motion.  :)

PS: My wife had me watch Brene Brown on Netflix / Ted talk.  She would like this.  He is poster child for The Power of Vulnerability.

Every time I go to Oahu and get my ass handed to me on the North Shore I'm reminded that Maui is kind of weenie except for Peahi and Hana on his NE swells. We get some spooky stuff, but it's all been a little gutted usually. That top to bottom fold you in half both ways and tear on the dotted fucking line stuff is serious. I get scared with DOH mushy. But yeah, the best thing about 7 to 10 is that there are five guys out at yer favorite spot, and two are thinking about going in if they can find non-set wave.

Waimea was always something to survive, going in or out..... not something to surf!
Kids these days!

Fun to watch  :)
