Numero Uno in California...
I would have pictured it on a VW van...
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

So, this is the first guy that thought up SURF as a personal plate?

SURF has been around since the first custom plates were offered, whenever that was. I'll bet nearly every state has one. From there it goes to +SURF, +SURF+, -SURF-, ISURF, SURFSUP and so on.

Eventually someone dies or moves on and gives up the plate and you have to be quick to jump on the opportunity or know the person who is giving it up.

I'm not much on custom plates, but my late, great friend Barney Li loved them. He had one on the back of a Pantera that he frequently street raced that said U Roose. He was Chinese. I did break down and get one for my '78 MoHo which continues my theme of naming utility stuff after Nero Wolfe characters. It's tagged as Fritz8 after Fritz Brenner, Nero's cook. The drag-along dune buggy will be tagged Archie82 after Archie Goodwin, who always had a fine appetite.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Wait, so you're not much for custom plates huh? ;D  In any event, tastefully done PB.

Growing up I remember a RR in town that was tagged RNTUNVS, I felt that it would have been more approriate on an AMC Pacer...

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine posted a VW Beetle with the license plate "FEATURE". I had to have it explained.

You just need to get your thought waves in the right frequency.
