Entering the Anthropocene epoch

Interesting article. I'm inclined to think we entered the Antropocene epoch somewhere around 10,000 years ago, when we started tilling and wiping out species, but I don't get to vote.

"Mick Jagger, Meryl Streep, and Caitlyn Jenner were all born before this crack in time. Vladimir Putin, Liam Neeson, and Mr. T were all born after it."

Did I miss something? How is this relevant?   :o

Writers be writers. How is "New York man killed in Tokyo Nuclear Holocaust" relevant. Though as a device to illustrate the fine edge of the start of the epoch, it's pretty cool. For what it's worth, I was born before the start of the epoch, you were probably not.

You could add the evolution of human consciousness to the same timeline which began about 5000 years ago but experienced a dramatic shift after WWII.

Eckhart Tolle, author of The Power of Now and A New Earth, writes and lectures about how the universe is slowly becoming aware of itself through human consciousness. People all over the world are experiencing higher levels of consciousness in larger numbers and at a faster rate than the world has ever known due to our increased ability to share knowledge over the entire planet. All human suffering and the destruction of the planet is caused by the unconscious thinking mind. True reality and the true self resides in the present moment. Past and future are imaginary.

The most important thing a person can do in his or her lifetime is to become aware of the present moment.
