Portage Lake, Alaska - Ice Breaking iSup

(1/1)

deepmud:
Local guy Andrew invited me last Monday - I shoulda' took a mental health day. He's got plenty of joy in paddling his new 14 Starboard Isup. He went solo. Last week it had been open water but a cold snap and 32f water got a solid layer back on it. Friday it was all liquid again when I drove by.

I just commented on this on the Pacific Northwest Touring FB page. The scenery is spectacular and it's too bad you couldn't go, but at least it's in your back yard and hopefully you can hit it up soon.

deepmud:
he invited me again! This time to Whittier - but I just worked 3 days remote :( Man I gotta be ready to go, Andrew is a paddling fiend! I want to compare his 14' Touring vs my 14' Red  - I bet the stability makes it actually faster.

I went on that Facebook Page, Robon - man, it's full of flatwater adventure trips exactly of the type I find fascinating. Facebook doesn't lend itself to sharing individual posts or I'd put some on the flatwater adventure thread for this forum - but I'll link the Padific Touring Facebook page anyway.

He needs a non-musical video so you can hear the ice on the sup and paddle = and I prefer quiet for that type of video anyway.

Green Water Sports:
Great to see Andrew is putting his new board to use already. A little cold for us though!

Green Water Sports:
Andrew got some recognition from Starboard HQ, his video making it to the official Starboard channel!
