I use WD40 for black marks (only occasionally).

Learned it from a Jimmy Lewis video.
I'm remembering he was pounding a fin in with
a black rubber mallet.

Just make sure you don't get it anywhere near the deck pad or it might damage it, not to mention make it slippery.

I like Jimmy but personally, I wouldn't put WD40 on my board. It's dirty stinky stuff.

Yes, Mr Clean Magic Eraser really works. I've been using it since day one. You can buy it just about anywhere. Home Depot, Walmart, Rite Aid, Super markets, etc.

Two stars for Badger.  WD40 is yeeech!   Good old alcohol supplements those magic erasers.   (1000 is actually pretty coarse, supla)

Most board finishes are similar to auto finishes, so same cleaning and polishing process.  Always start with the least agressive and work up from there.

(And yes, I've used WD 40 to remove bugs and tar from my car finishes over the years.)

i too have used the mr clean magic eraser with impressive success--on boards but also around the house--great for water stains and other spots on paint--gets it perfect clean, without abrading surface

i havent used wd-40, but cant see a problem with using it and rinsing immediately with soap and water

i rinse off the mr clean residue with soap and water, too--who knows what "miracle" chemicals lurk in that shit? dont want to rub any of that stuff into my skin
