So which beginner friendly stable foils are easy to fly and turn for a 185 lbs guy?
Gong Allvator is working well for me . A bunch of wing sizes available. Can't beat the price, and shipping isn't bad.

Down side it's on the heavier side of foils if you have to carry it far. I often wonder if the extra pound or 2 helps keep it a little more stable?

The wings of the Gong foils are much heavier than the wings of the Gofoils.
The only advantage of the extra weight imo is that you don't have to push the wing down before you can climb on the board.
I tried a Gong foil with a 65 mast and a Gofoil with a 24,5 mast and both of them had too much mast wobble causing instability peddling and less control flying.
