Foil Share File Share
« on: December 08, 2018, 09:46:40 AM »
Hi guys,

There has been some expressed interest in sharing some files for 3D printing and other shaping technologies.  Feel free to use this thread to share files and post details about those files.  Have fun!

PS:  I have enabled an initial group of file extensions for upload.  If you are getting errors on your files or need additional file types please let me know.

Here is a set of 4" side fins (flat insides) fins I did using a open-source software chain for the design.

They were featured in a tweet from finFoil showing multiple technologies to make the same fin. The tweet has a short URL lthat is a link to my process and a discussion of the foiling software.

Thanks to Admin for allowing us to attach design-type files on the 'Zone!

Not technically a 3d file but thought it would be a handy place to leave this.

Feel free to add to it.

Kiwi, that's a great spreadsheet to compare foils.

In addition to those, Fanatic now has three foils a 1500, 2000 and a massive 2500cm2 wing as well as a couple different fuze lenghts.

I'm new to googledocs so my apologies for editing the sheet. I put filters on, saw that I had altered the sheet and so took them off again. Result - no net change. Bottom line is that the data is unprotected from us, the great unwashed.

I suppose the etiquette would be to copy your file or do a save as to then further explore (read: mutilate) on our own personal copy.

That said, I am a huge fan of filters on excel or any other database. I recommend them for comparing similar specs. If I may also suggest making the brand/mfg a separate field so that it shows up next to each other field when filtered or copypasted.

Next lesson: Pivot Tables!

Google sheets does online collaboration way better than MS/Excel. I recall a fairly robust versioning mechanism with ability to roll back etc if you break things.

Maybe just copy the tab to blackeye-dev and filter there?

You know what I want to pivot is Beashos flight logs. He has some amazing data there.
