RIP King of the Surf Guitar: Dick Dale
« on: March 19, 2019, 09:23:55 AM »
Sadly, I heard that Dick Dale has passed.....I had the opportunity to meet him a couple of times over the years and always enjoyed jabbering and talking guitars and music.  I had him sign my Fender Strat back in the late 90's and I'll always treasure it....one of the first things I always play when I pick it up and start noodling is the intro to Miserlou.

:(

Will definitely be playing some of his tunes tonight....Volume to the sweet spot (~7.5) and Reverb to 10 on the Deluxe Reverb.

RIP Dick.....and Thank You for all the great music: Miserlou, Surf Beat, Nitro, The Wedge, Esperanza, to name just a few.

That's a perfect surf tune guitar setup WhatsSUP. I know he'd been battling cancer for a while, but still touring to the end. RIP Dick Dale.

Was looking forward to his return this summer in Asbury Park, what an icon!

Do you know what they call a Quarter Pounder with cheese in France...?

Beautiful all around.  Post up some pics of the rest of the herd :).   We may just need an instrument porn thread in honor of the late great Dick Dale.
