Nice waves yesterday Norther Jersey Shore
« on: March 12, 2019, 12:34:56 PM »
I bought a refurbished soloshot 3 gave it a try yesterday in fun waves.  I was out for 2 hours and for about the first hour I thought the soloshot was tracking me but later saw I was always just to the left of the screen.  In the second hour or so the camera corrected itself without my intervention so I put together a small video sample.

Nice waves. Good to see another Super Frank. You have an interesting off center stance.

Haha, yes that’s my lazy bad habit stance!  I prefer to position my back foot over the back center.

Great vid LB!

I was out at Sea Girt from about 5:00 - 6:30 yesterday for some late afternoon dreamers.  The shortboarders were getting totally shacked.  Some of the cleanest waves for us in a while for sure.

Thanks Bean.  I went again around 2:30 still good the offshore winds really started to pickup.

Clean looking pretty hollow waves. The little or a lot of offshore just made the waves look so good. Refurbished SoloShot seems to be working good. Score.
It's not overhead to me!

That's some qwaliteee sup surfing and SS3 work. Fine job, Ken. I see you are using the SS edit s/w. From what I can tell you added highlights. Only once have I had the s/w generate clips in a sequence that I liked. So I left it as is and exported to the SS host site. Check it out! I'll hafta try and find you on there.

btw- Did you upload directly to YT from the SSedit?

Hey Marc,  I had to select highlights cause I was out of the frame for the first hour, the ss3 software counted empty waves as me.  After several failed attempts of trying to upload the video to ss I downloaded the free YT software put the clips together then uploaded with ease.  I may use the YT softeware and skip ss3 but I’m amazed how the ss3 program highlights your rides.  Fun surf yesterday but I was afraid to film due to the strong offshore winds and chance blowing over the tripod.

In high winds hang a weighted bag from the center post to steady tripod. I use a small canvas bag and fill it w/sand. Also do not extend the center post all the way up to minimize wind shake on the cam.
I wonder why SSedit failed to upload directly to YT. It's never failed for me. I have quite a few edits successfully uploaded to the SSapp.

LB, Methinks that is back foot closer to rail to help with real bottom turns when it's hollow!
