Ponobill recommends the Dewalt compressor - I haven't seen it local but it seems like a high volume/high pressure pump.

Yup, for the kind of money people are charging for wimpy cordless inflators you can get a real cordless compressor. For tool freaks this is a no-brainer. The Dewalt Lithium system is pretty good, works with a lot of decent tools. Not top-of-the-line stuff, but I've sworn off that after being stung several times by standards changes with expensive cordless tools. Anyone need a 9V cordless drill? I have several that I can't get batteries for anymore. You can use the standard 6AH battery or slap in a 9AH. 1.5 SCFM at 40 psi, roughly 3scfm at 20psi.
