I used to boogie board in very cold water with swim fins and would get major seizing calf cramps if overdid it.  Potassium from any source helps.  I used to take kelp tablets - packed with potassium.

Cramps suck and bad ones are so immobilizing.

Sea Salt is the solution for me.

A put a little sea salt and lemon in water and drink this as my "sports drink".  I first heard of this in the book Nourishing Traditions.

The way I make sense of hydration is our bodies are salt "water" and drinking plain water in attempt to rehydrate dilutes our salt content.  I notice when I'm really thirsty I crave salty foods.  Usually the biggest or second biggest ingredient in gatorade type drinks is salt/sodium.
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.
