deep see amphib boots

these are turning out to be my favorite pair of shoes in and out of the water. super light, ultra comfortable, easy on/easy off, and quite affordable at around $60 us. sized to fit without sox so go for one size up if you plan to wear something under them.

"this is an all terrain, multifunctional boot. originally designed for military rescue applications, the boot works well in and out of the water. the amphib provides the necessary ankle support and foot protection for operating personal watercraft or when negotiating a boulder choked waterway. construction includes a 3mm seeflex nylon II neoprene sock, rubber outsole, and eva midsole. the heel and the toecap are brushed rubber and upper is synthetic leather. the amphib uses 550 parachute cord for laces and a velcro cinch strap secure the boot at the ankle. a screen meal eyelet protects the water purge at the in-step.

weight: 2 lbs. 6 oz per pair."

more like full on boots actually. all of the protection but as light as running shoes. not quite the thing if you're going for the bare foot feel. great for fishing in the morning paddling in the afternoon and hunting pig in a muddy bog at night!

You were wearing those while you were here on Maui, huh? I remember looking at them and wondering what you were thinking of doing. Makes a lot more sense now.

Bet I wouldn't have sliced and diced my feet in those puppies. Might have left waffle marks in the board though... ;D

Where'd you buy them? Definitely good for camping.

werks great with the maritime assault suit system or the 30 or so pair of surf shorts i inherited from some wildman on the island. i picked mine up online... ebay for a good price. got to tell you to size 'em up if you want to wear sox but worth every penny. figure it'll be great for mountain climbs and river runs too.
