If anyone's looking for a post-Christmas gift to themselves... JL is running 50% off on a lot of his line, including the SuperTech (I'm probably grabbing a 8'3"), etc.

I couldn’t resist. Got one couple of days ago. It is so beautiful too  :P
No brainer deal. Mine came in at 15.4 lbs classic version.

Yeah, have fun with it, great board. Really nice session on it today, just wish it was 5" shorter, ha. JL boards are really light and extremely durable (I dropped a WW off my surf racks at the top of my garage, not even a blemish). Just watch the rails with paddle dings.

Are you going with wax or deckpad? I know I shouldn't buy yet another board, but damn, I have a trip in 11 days and downsizing would be nice.

I bought hexatraction after all these glowing reviews on here and web. But I am not impressed at all - impossible to even prone paddle it in rash guard - I keep sliding off the board. Also it might work for regular suping or downwinding but performance sup surfing I don't see how. Maybe I will change my opinion but the first time using it was underwhelming to say the least. Wax is great - never lost a contact with my longboard. So I might end up ripping those hexes off and just waxing it. We'll see.

P.S also bought a kwad model for wife - price is just too good.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of waxing it, that's my only complaint on the Super Frank, the deckpad can get a bit slick from time to time.

I’ve waxed every SUP I’ve owned....the pads too....still the best traction possible.

Not a hijack! Just piling on the Hexatraction thoughts. My personal experience with it relates to water temperature.

When it goes below 50 degrees it is almost useless other than providing a thin layer of protection.

Back to winter wax on the schnozz. My Infinity New Deal felt like a skating rink in 37 degree water.
Let it come to you..

What size are you looking at? I mean......my 8'3 with fins and wax was 15 lb on the dot. I don't know that carbon is worth the extra money unless you are going really small. Just my opinion.

I don't know what my boards feel like in 37 degree water and I never will.
