Thx Mike, we’re zeroing in on final design now, will post when available. Sunova’s XXX Tech Balsa construction weight is close to full carbon without the cost and stiffness cons, Sunova boards have fantastic flex!

Those are some interesting reef runner fins you have there 🤙

Ok....

Badger.... please  buy a One World, I look forward to reading about it.... on a SUP SPORTS thread.

Meanwhile, back to the most awesome board that rbgar has shared with us on his thread.
The changes rbgar has asked for are going to be spectacular.
I WANT ONE!  ;D ;D

and yes..... the added width will be awesome in every way!
It's going to loosen the tail up for tighter turns, without "throwing" the nose so much as I do on the 14'r
My 9'4 CREEK is 32" wide, handles anything I throw at it with ease.... has great glide and paddles just fine.

DEMO DAY:
rbgar and I paddled to his remote spot, so he could test my stock 14' Search, in the exact wave that he will be using it.

Waves ranged from waist high to slightly OH on some amazing sets.
Pure glass.
A bit too high tide when we got there so it didn't wall up as much after the 1st few turns, but still a great test of the Search in good waves!

Short vid of a few waves from our session.
The 14'r surfed the pocket of head high waves amazingly well.
In the last wave, I did the 14' version of a quasi "lip smack".... super fun  ;D ;D
The 12' rbgar model will be even better!

Thanks Creek

Great video.....12ft.....sounds perfect ..time to sell a 14 footer...not getting any time on the water. I am stuck in traffic on the highway as they work on clearing fallen trees.

One last change, I'm going with a ledge handle instead of the LiftSup. Now the painful wait while she's shaped and into the next scheduled USA shipment this May. Hopefully they will send progress pics!

Excellent choice on the handle change. I can't wait to see the finished product. Looking forward to the review. Hopefully Rick or someone else can get some video of the board in action.

Johnny, I would be happy to loan you my 14' Search until I return in April.
You could arrange to meet Ryan at my house to pick it up.

I hate to think of all those beautiful waves we share going to waste..... might even work at C'patties.  :)

Just let me know and it will happen!

Ha ha... I am SO stoked!
I just got off the phone with Bert Burger.... the wizard shaper/founder of Sunova. (more on this in a minute)  ha ha... he called me at 5 am.... Portugal time!

I have loved the thought of this board since my buddy RbGar demo'd my 14' Search, and began his build.
He wanted the shorter version, but he's a strapping big, powerfully built guy and he wanted keep the easy glide, while making it wave specific.

As I followed this build, I became increasingly convinced of two things:
1 - I want one!
2 - It deserves to be added to the Sunova line as a new model, with the name "Point Break"

The US distributor agreed with me, and committed to adding some to the spring container.

To make sure we get this right, I wanted to talk directly to Bert about his thoughts on this build....
When he called,  I picked his brain on the width, bottom, rails, volume.... everything.
He was very specific on how all these numbers and curves work to maximize the surfability of a board this size.

Bert is extremely  happy with all aspects of this shape and agrees that it should be added to the line....
under a new model name, because it has a different design purpose than the Search.

I came away even more excited about this project and I am super stoked for my first session  with RbGar, on our dueling 12' Point Break's!

This board is going to open up a whole new era of surfing for me.
I had a blast learning to surf the 14' Search because of the novelty...
but this new shape, is going to take it to a new level.

It is making me rethink all the river mouths and interesting remote breaks around New England.
This board is not designed for massive offshore Bomby's
It's designed for the waves that many of us have access to... and want to ride.
I see this board appealing to a lot of people!

I bow to you RbGar... you have started something really good here :)

If you want to order one of these boards... please click my email link below.
