Foilbread
« on: November 21, 2018, 08:33:22 PM »
I screwed up this morning, I was up at 5:00 AM as usual, could have jumped in the car and gone to check out ka'a point and the harbor to foil surf. But instead I dragged around drinking coffee and reading until 8:00. Cruised by the harbor expecting nothing and found plenty of swell, but too much wind. "It was good earlier", says Chris P. Of course it was.

So I went home and made the bread I'm supposed to make for thanksgiving a day early. It will be fine, but I want to be able to go foil tomorrow without feeling like I'm supposed to be doing something. So yeah, baking fiesta. This is Olive Bread, Cheese and herb, and Cranberry walnut, all done as pull-apart rolls, but the actual recipe is one I use for french baguettes. I can make this stuff without thinking about it, but it's good not to be rushed. It will be fine tomorrow and either gone or concrete nuggets the next day. That's the problem with baking bread--eat it or toss it.

Dat look OOOno!

I eat pretty darn clean, with occasional cheat days. I am most successful by avoiding putting myself in a position where I have to have to be disciplined. Most of the day I'm not too tempted, but something about later at night... up reading. That bread would not survive to see the light of day.

My plan worked, pretty good foiling this morning in the harbor. For some reason I was wobbling around and having a hard time turning in control, I think my foil is a bit wanky (technical term) in the board. I couldn't get it out when I was done. I'll have to use some lube to break it free and then do the fitting I should have done long ago--Mr. Fugly has always been a bit too tight in the Tuttle.
