Yeah, that’s something of an oxymoron. Puena Point is really your only option if you’re not a local.

Also, this time of year? Maybe don’t surf the North Shore unless you’re extremely experienced, like pro level. Since no one listens lol be careful, conditions change quickly and you can find yourself stuck without a safe way in.

If you can, just surf prone,  take it easy, be low key, respectful, and whatever you do, don’t drop in on anyone.

Puena Point is always fine, but you will be surrounded by beginners making dangerous mistakes. Go there first and figure out if you are good enough to hack it. Early morning on a weekday isn't too crowded. Smile a lot, be stoked, don't make rookie mistakes and the locals will cut you a little slack. Ali'i Beach Park is chill if its small and you are good, so you can try that next. In between every famous break there are plenty of lesser breaks that aren't as good or as crowded so you can always just drive and take your chances.

I have a few favorite spots that are uncrowded because they are finicky. Not going to post them on a public form but message me and I can point you the right way.

I saw you said you mostly surf south shore. If that is the case, you are way better off asking other guys in the line up. A lot of the dedicated SUP surfers I know from the south shore I also see on the north shore. You recognize the cars in the parking lot and bodies in the line up.

If you're a first timer to SUP surfing the North Shore I would recommend Pipe or Sunset.  Best attire would be a man thong.

And a Justin Beiber T-shirt... ;D

I would consider hiring an experienced local surf guide to put me on the best waves for my ability. (=FUN) I bet exiled and a few other here (Blue Planet) could give you some good references.
