where this piece frightens me is in its description of the steady proliferating global successes cambridge-style entities (private and "government" sponsored) are having with manipulation of lightly educated and poor people-i hadnt previously conceptualized the global nature of this--real news is gravitating to paywall--poor and lightly educated have no interest in paywall news--it costs and it's boring--when one has little to live for, sure feels good to get whipped up over some enemy, invented or not....

like the caravan of mostly women and children refugees headed for our southern border--who will seek asylum and either be allowed in or turned away--thk God we have 5000+ troops down there to protect us--scary

"invasion" is a word that's been out and about a lot of recent--but all these memes and dogwhistles that i find laughably false, will continually be highly motivational for masses of humans worldwide--scary
