Good work.

They are still behind the times with no SUP forum though.

Holy crap, I always forget how toxic the internet surf community is. That's gonna be a pass for me.

Good on you, but I have to agree with exiled. I try not to hang out with jerks. I don't bother reading comments on youtube either unless it's technical content, and even then I'm often disheartened by the willful ignorance and bile. Don't need it.

I didn’t understand some of the reactions above, so I checked the FOIL SECTION...  some interesting things and that
“10/19/18 12:31 Why I honestly dislike SUP'ers
Is they are either new comers or guys who just gave up surfing.
I really hate when they have bad form...bending at the waist, not the knees. It's so ugly.”
I don’t really understand, is it about choosing partners ?
Sometimes it’s better not to try to understand

I've been on that message board since 2004 and it's pretty tame compared to the way it used to be.  Regardless, yes there are kooks taking pot shots all the time.  Best to not engage and move on to those that are posting on topic.  I think those that are interested in the foil discipline (prone and SUP) are welcome in the foil section.

But yes, put on your hazmat suit and post up. ;)

So what's new there that I'm not going to hear or find out about at this place?

I dealt with "localism" back in HS when I didn't live at the beach I surfed at, and this "surfer" hate for SUPers, and now foilers is just another "ism" that I don't need to be around of my own choosing, when I have other places much more pleasant, and respective to what I enjoy doing.

Hell I get enough of that kind of kook surfer BS at our state-sponsored segregated "surf" beach, so I sure as shit don't need to give click points to a site that apparently doesn't welcome me/us in a similar manner (even if it's supposedly a small minority of them (which in a short read there it's pretty obvious it's much more than that) as it is in the water. Truly a situation where the "one bad apple" saying holds true...IMO anyway.

So as far as I'm concerned, "F" the SurferMag Message Board, I stopped reading there years ago when it became obvious my type of "surfing" was not welcomed, and from my quick review of the "dedicated FOIL section"...I can see that that really hasn't changed.  >:(

 :o

Stalking me on Facebook, eh. That really was an incredibly crappy weld to be posted so proudly.

If you have to grind, you're a grinder, not a welder.

One thing we have to do is stop calling them surfers as if we are not. SUP and prone are just two disciplines of the same sport. They both perfectly fit the definition of the word surfing. We are surfers in every sense of the word. Whether someone uses a paddle or not is irrelevant.

Nice to see some recognition! As for the erBB, it's the lowest point on the internet. I lurk there from time to time to just to marvel at how low the bar has slid with the half dozen "usual suspects" that have an opinion on everything.

Thinking about what should get recognition on that board for a moment, in terms of growth and the sheer number of participants I'm shocked that there isn't a "Wavestorm" forum. Just think of the possibilities. . . . . #blameCostco

OS, Your Wavestorm comment got me thinking about where I started surfing over 45 years ago. From the 'Sponge King' himself.

His slightly younger wife has gotten into foiling, so her and Tom are at SanO a lot lately. He's not doing so well, has trouble getting out of their jeep:(
I'll have to stop and chat with him next time I see them. I spent some great times on my Boogie board when I was a kid. Even more recently with my son.
The bus stop, my duck feet, and my boogie board. That's all I needed.    :)

Have you ever met his son Sol? Super great guy. I haven't seen him for a few years. I've never seen anyone with better balance on a surfboard--including Jeremy Riggs.
