That guy is really good at 'post work'. In programs like Lightroom / Photoshop you can 'photo stack', 'F-stop Stack', 'Focus Stack', 'Shutter Speed Stack' and 'color stacking'. You take multiple pictures from the same position but all different camera settings. You then stack them in an photo editing program and edit each picture in layers. You end up with incredible DOF, color and contrast. The time lapse between the photos give moving things that pillowy soft look.

This is a much less complicated effect (just click a button and adjust), but I like how it turn pictures into paintings.

It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

A lot of incredible stuff there.  HDR stuff used to require tons of manual effort both in shooting and editing.  Check out what is happening computationally now:  https://www.dpreview.com/articles/7921074499/five-ways-google-pixel-3-pushes-the-boundaries-of-computational-photography .  Epic.

I've used Photoshop since...well since Photoshop....I know some of it is post processing. But there are many that are just long exposure and beautiful photos of amazing places.

The stuff available these days is amazing. How fast the change has happened. My 1st digital camera was the Sony Mavica….floppy disc for storage. 15 secs max of 640x480 video.....10x optical zoom though...great for the kids sports.

Canon just released their new Mirrorless Full Frame camera with 4K video. Plus a whole line of 'L' glass for it. I'm just waiting for the price of the older DSLR's to drop now. I'd love to pick up a 7D or 80D cheap. I'm ok shooting sports in manual mode and getting better with a flash for portraits, but I suck at landscapes. I just don't have an eye for it, or the patients... If the subject matter isn't obvious, then I'll miss it.
