Any thoughts on SUP vibe in Cabo? Considering a trip April 2019.

There's really no SUP surfing in Cabo San Lucas as there is really no surfing period in CSL.  There is SUP in CSL but not actual wave riding.  Best time is early in the morning as it get's very choppy and windy later in the day.  http://cabosup.com/

Surfing is more east on the cape.  Zippers is one of the main known breaks but not sure about the vibe towards SUP.  You may want to research more of the surfing scene in general in that area.  I imagine some breaks will be more tolerant with it than others but I do remember not seeing anyone with SUP boards in the surf breaks.  This was 2014.

Nothing about SUP but it does have a decent guid for surfing Cabo.  Also I would HIGHLY recommend staying in San Jose Del Cabo rather that Cabo San Lucas.

Lots of places to SUP surf around Cabo, I do it every day.   A car rental is a must.  As long as you are respectful, you will be fine. That means, safety first, control of your board, no taking off on the inside when someone else is on the wave and letting a lot of waves go by.   Still lots of empty waves going east past San Jose.  Plenty of waves around Cerritos on the Pacific.   The beach break just south of the point works really well and doesn't have a lot of people. Lots, you don't need to surf with the pack.   Stay away from Zippers and Shipwrecks.

You will have a blast!

Sweet! Thanks for all the info. I'm a little jealous that you get to paddle there every day.

Yes I have had plenty of good sessions at old mans and the rock if you go early at sunrise !   Zippers is really more of a shortboard wave .
