2019 Infinity
« on: October 06, 2018, 12:14:39 PM »
Well it seems  there is no more multi-fin option for the Whiplash or Blackfish on the prod boards.

Also Looks like there is a change to the whiplash rear pintail config and the dugout deck is more pronounced and ramps up like the Sprint.

That's really strange. I wonder why they would go away from the multi fins? That's one feature I really like on my Whiplash.

I got a 2019 Whiplash a few weeks ago and there are some subtle design changes that really make this board shine. It’s a rocket. The 2019 lineup from race to surf is really impressive.

I have not got the chance to try a 2018 Blackfish but I really liked the new lines. Hopefully 2019 is just a tweak.

I often find mys lfmin slight side waves and wind and the ventral really helps for this. I did not find much gain with the other fins but I would love to have that option on the 2019 without going for a custom.

LA has still been drawing attention to the multifins in these boards on his ppg social media so I'm not sure they are gone yet ?

I was in the shop last week and got to see the new sample boards (blackfish, whiplash, downtown) they all look pretty sweet and noticeably lighter. Lighter is always nice! Dave told me it's the same board Kai, Slater, Shae, and Candice has been riding since the London race. Same bottom concave as 2018 with a more rounded entry more like the 2017 it looks really nice.

The whiplash bottom looks the same with a deeper dugout and flat tail. This board just looks killer. I have a 2016 whiplash and it might be time to upgrade! I was told that they are not moving forward with the twins for next year not sure why.  Everyone in Dana Point pretty much rides an infinity and no one really using the twins option on their boards. So i imagine it's the same everywhere else not enough interest?

I believe the reason for no twin fins is due to cost and weight as well as most do not bother to use them.
