Push down on the front foot is not exactly right. Get your front foot in the right position and then push your hips forward over it. The foil won't immediately fly. When you're ready, slide your hips back a little, as if you were sitting down. In that position, you can move weight forward or back easily. If you push down on your front foot you'll probably lean forward and then your melon is an uncontrollable weight on the end of a long stick. Keep your head up, eyes forward, don't lean, move your hips to weight.

I'm saying all this having not foiled for several months. I'm jonesing so bad it's making my mouth dry.
