finally, northeast storm season may produce a storm.....

https://www.axios.com/florence-likely-major-threat-to-east-coast-58e157b3-93fe-4a52-b4b6-3a87b89f74db.html

hope for solid surf next week, and no destructive effects

and axios isnt much of a weather site--but check it anyway--seems decent for real time breaking news--i check it anytime the markets jerk around

I'm not liking how close to the coast and how strong of a storm they are predicting . Looks to be a bitchly beast. I wouldn't mind going "Deep" either though...been a while.  ;)

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Looks like I may have to aim for Tues Wed. Unfortunately busy today and tomorrow and later in the week looking bigger than I feel like handling given how I've been feeling lately. I think the stupid meds I started a month ago have halved my strength/stamina among other things . Telling the doc tomorrow they have to go. I'll take the headaches thanks.

Looking more and more like a dominant E to SE flow for the entire swell period... from Maryland to Maine.

Possibly, Wednesday morning, early, might be the only chance for a clean session.
May be an opportunity to find that "never surfed spot" that suits the swell and wind.

After a lackluster Summer, it would be nice to get this swell AND offshore wind.... big and lumpy isn't exactly SUP stuff.

Tidbits are looking more serious today for us here on the East Coast. Carolinas especially.
Surfed the frontrunners of Florence on my 9'11" yesterday and fought some pretty serious sideshore wind gusts clocking over 20mph. Got blown off the board quite a few times at the outer break and navigating back in to the inside break was quite a challenge. One wave felt like a downwinder and it took all my strength and concentration to control the board as it raced in w/that fairly sizeable windswell that seemed to be latched onto a groundswell. The inside break was nice and clean w/much less wind on it. Scored quite a few nice rides in there w/only three other takers on it at this inlet break. Lotta rain though, not exactly sunny here in NJ last few days.

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

got the waists on saturday--and sweet glassy chest high frames yesterday--best sesh in a while--crawled out after 3 hours--so hard to climb out when watching friends rip juiceness--LB hits it right some days and yesterday was classic LB--great left off the main jetty peaks--and plentiful a frames with rights and lefts in the middle

so nice to jump in and grab a set wave left off the main peak, then grab a few rights upcurrent

tomorrow and wed mornings have good potential here, might be 8 hrs later up in the holy land--wed am looks the sweet spot in LB

sounds like it could get tough on the carolinas--big inland rain along with surge--yikes--hope it swings to stay well offshore--git us our waves without shoreline damage effects

Well that forecast went to shit fast. Looks like I may just go local for a workout tomorrow now. May be some thigh highs in the cove out of the wind. Wed/Thurs I'm booked, hoping it gets better for the weekend.

Stay safe....Zoo...keep your head down.... ;)

Shit!!!...just checked magicseaweed and moused across the forecast.....the graphic looks ominous...moving right onto the coast and just hanging there for days. This shows saturday...it 1st hits the coast on Thurs and doesn't start to dissipate until Mon... :o . This is not one to wish for. Good luck to everyone in it's path, it's looking like you may need it.
