Empty session after a Great White clears the line-up
« on: September 04, 2018, 04:28:56 AM »
Crowed peak yesterday......(sorry about clipping your board GeoffC)  ;D

A Great White cruised through the line-up
Lots of folks who had been out for a while, decided it was a good time to leave.

Empty waves on Labor Day  :)

Yikes!  I know I would kinda be a bit freaky falling and bobbing around for 10-20 seconds.  One thing to know critters are out there where we all surf but sorta another thing to actually see a GW and 100% know there's big ass teeth in the immediate neighborhood! Other that that, the video was awesome....love the casual carving and dance floor moves!

Great white thing doesn't work around here. Too many die-hard surfers, and we all see the sharks a lot. More and more now days.

Great surf session Creek.
On a side note... My Hero5 is a little too heavy for my FCS 'Creek Mount' hat visor. It's not as stiff as my trucker hat conversion which worked well for non-surfing situations. I'm thinking about adding a plastic insert to stiffen the FCS visor so it will work with my Hero5.

It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

Nice edit, Creek.... and sweet bonus round! You's really crankin' that big board beautifully. Sunova Flow at around 9'6"? That's some sup armada you have up there in CC. I'm pretty lucky here as there are only a few on sup riding at my local, although the wave isn't nearly as long. Looks like foiling heaven up there. But all those sup takers would prevent me from chiseling away at the learning curve I'm currently stuck behind. Whitey would probably help w/that!  :P
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Thanks for the nice comments... it was a fun day all around.
We have a great SUP crew here and and mix well with the surfers when sharing a peak.

TD.... my Kook Hat is starting to lose stiffness as well...
I'm just going to spring for a new hat because the vids came out with less shake when the brim was stiffer.
Or... just pick up a Sessions 5. Nice tiny camera that is super easy to use. one big button... no housing.

Cookieman.... not the Flow. I was riding the 9'5 Soul with a very small center fin.... more of a pivot fin with less rake.
It really loosened up the board and still gave me drive and hold.

Loved it!  Very nice editing work, and it is work. Nice mix of slow and fast playback,
music fit the changing scenes, and the splash add was classic. And your big ones -cojones - paid off in beautiful session. And you were really flowing the Flow.

A note to the crossovers into sup surfing from other than a surf background. Watch Rick’s paddle use. Unless he is turning, or scratching back into the wave, his paddle is on standby. Whenever he has clean wave face he surfs and doesn’t need paddle assist for that.
