Trying to Make Something Outta Nuttin'
« on: August 22, 2018, 06:30:38 PM »
Yesterday we had just a little weak 1-2' swell, but still ended up to be pretty fun with the foils....

Also, just an FYI if you're filming with a drone. At the 13 second mark when "angledfoil" Ron stand ups and paddles after having ducked...he did that because the drone pilot was flying backward filming, and had no visual on him, and had Ron not seen it coming at him, and ducked under it...he would have rotor blades in the noggin that I'm sure we can all imagine how ugly that might have ended up.  :o :-\

Just be careful out there...
Me: 6'1"/185...(2) 5'1" Kings Foil/Wing Boards...7'10 Kings DW Board...9'6" Bob Pearson "Laird Noserider"...14' Lahui Kai "Manta"...8'0" WaveStorm if/when the proning urges still hit.

Hey Sano

Nice vid.  I must have missed you out there.  I was out there earlier in the morning.  Hopefully will make it out more with summer ending.  Plus i should have a foil board coming in a couple of weeks.

That drone pilot needs to get his $h!t together and watch what he's doing!

(And btw, I now have adopted the technique of taking a good look at the lineup before I start flying backwards and will not go below 7 feet.)

NICE! You sure do make it look easy. I need that kinda surf to get moving on my learning curve. Only seven sessions in and my local has been filled in with TONS of cubic yards of sand from the Army Core of Engineers. What was once a normal break quite similar to SanO is now a lame near shore beach break wave. hopefully a few good storms will reclaim some sand and return the break to a somewhat normal profile.
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"
