2018 Ventura Paddle Surf Championships Oct 13

This year's paddle surfing contest at C-Street is  Saturday October 13th and Sunday October 14th.  There are divisions for SUP, Waveski and Adaptive Waveski.  Also divisions by age group so you can get a chance to compete with someone closer to your own age.

Wow, the lack or interest here is really taken to a whole new level.  I would even think there are at least a few Zoners who have competed in this in the past.  While I am not going to compete, I will probably head up to watch.

I think the men's SUP division sold out last year but a bunch of no shows due to poor surf. Sean Poynter, Daniel Hughes and another top guy were in it so the talent was there just not enough of them. It would be better if it were a one day event maybe.

Did they stop running the major SUP surfing contests this year? I haven't heard of any from the APP tour guys.

APP has contests sheduled. Next one in NY, mid-September.

The usual SUP events that are joint events with kayak/waveski surfing and attract top west coast and a few top Non US paddlers:  Davenport in November and Santa Cruz in March. The Santa Cruz event is usually a big deal.  These are set up by waveski/kayak surfing associations that have been going on for Dseveral decades now.
