Not sure of what you're questioning with the "Hmmm"...but if that's that from your first session on video, they seem about right to me, given the waves you were on compared to my typical numbers, and the slower, mushier conditions that I'm in at Sano.

Here's yesterdays session on all of maybe waist high waves with little punch, and the tide at the time where we couldn't find anything too far outside for any longer rides before I was turning out of many of them to not take them to the sand.

Although on some days we do get conditions that give us longer rides like this...

..but still a lot slower than I think you'll usually get at your spot there. Interestingly enough, if you look at the stats to the right on that one, it was only a 1-2' day compared to the 2-3' we had yesterday.

Sano - What App is this?

Love the ratings and various doodles on the side.

I have been using the Trace for 2 1/2 years.  I have found it is the most accurate but they have given up on evolving its capabilities.  The Rip-Curls we noticed generally report fastest speeds that are up to 20% slower than the Trace (as measured side by side).  I think it has something to do with the cycle time on the gps.  Trace records 5X per second.  Others are as low as 1 measurement every second or two seconds.

Beasho, that is the Rip Curl app v2.0, my buddy has one, but can't seem to get it to update for whatever reasons, so only has v1.? and it doesn't seem to be working as well.

Wrt the speed ratings of the Rip Curl, I've seen that also with another friend's watch which has him going up to 45 mph which we obviously know can't be correct. He's unsure what firmware version he has, so that might play into it some.

I've never had any really out of whack speed numbers that I can tell in comparison to what others as saying/posting are the normal speeds of the various foil setups out there.

Other than just strapping it on, and pressing a couple of buttons to get it to start and stop is about as far as my "technology expertise" goes, so can't offer much more on the inner workings of the darn thing.  :)
