Downwind Bliss
« on: August 05, 2018, 12:17:14 PM »
Yesterday was a super fun day on the water. 15km of downwind surfing, 25-30knots winds, and amazing bumps. Pure stokeness all time long. I hope you like the video.

Nice vid.....clearly you are in your element and enjoying the stoke. Sure helps when the sun is out and the wind is warm!

Beautiful wind and water conditions for a downwind session. Wish we had those type of conditions on the upper Texas coast out in the Gulf of Mexico, but we don't.

Thanks for sharing your video.

Nice. The bumps look good sized but slope-y. A bit more work and skill required. Some folks try to stay glued to one spot doing downwinders. You don't have that problem--at all. You look like Livio Menalau downwinding--relaxed and lazy-looking but constantly moving.

Looks like European equivalent of Maliko run. Water color and bumps are similar. You rock that infinity Dimitris 🤙.

Super nice riding and edit. Sweet conditions. Enjoy.

I like the look of the Downtown rocker and outline. I’m imagining it’s kind of in between a JL Rail and Rogue DW in feel. Impressions?

PonoBill thank you very much for the comments. I really appreciate it. One of the reasons that I am totally stoked with down winding is the attempt to paddle less and surf more, as the two masters Livio and Jeremy always say.

Yugi I have done quite a few downwinders on the Downtown and now I can say with confidence that it is the fastest board I have ever ridden and at the same time it surfs so nice from the tail. You have an amazing control of the board in high speeds and you feel safe to push it hard in big bumps and strong winds. Also it is very stable for a 25’ width board, something that I didn’t expect that much. The Rail is an amazing board for dw surfing and the Rogue is also very good but I think that the Downtown wins easily. The only thing that I would change is the handle. I don’t like that strap in front of my feet but it is something that I can live with.
