Need a center fin that's slightly larger than any available Futures  (maybe 6")

Have plenty o fins, and thinking of cutting/grinding  one down to a Futures insert template.....

Can live with the thought that I might blow out the box.

Any thoughts suggestions tips?

Hey outcast, if the box is solid, I would go for it without any mods to the board or box.  If the Futures box blows out, you can always replace it with a longboard box.  But, as LA might say, you can't go back to the Future.

If on the other hand, if the box shows any sign of weakness, movement, etc. I would just patch over it.

For the fin modification, you might want to measure and drill the holes for the end tabs before you cut and grind the length and width. ;D

Worked better and quicker than expected.
I did drill the back post groove first, then it was belt sander to get best fit

Futures does make a 6 inch center fin for a standard Futures box. It's called the Eddie Gun Big Wave.

My friend Kirby, who is a die hard three fin guy, got one and loves it.

Sorry if this is too late.
